Clearly, the quality of a truly path-breaking work – like Weber’s legacy – is that it makes others, and literally thousands of others, think and develop new ideas. Weber asked the right questions. Whether one agrees with his answers or not, he paved the way for many fields of research that became distinct disciplines.

Der weltweite Ausbruch von Covid-19 hat mein Fach Kunstgeschichte und seinen Untersuchungsgegenstand grundlegend verändert. Die Kunst und ihre Institutionen sind seit Dezember 2019 im andauernden Krisenmodus und gehen in eine unbestimmte Zukunft. Die Schließung von Museen und Galerien, die Absage von Kunstmessen in Deutschland, in Europa und weltweit haben sofort zur Frage geführt, wie sich diese Orte des Zugangs zu Kunst auf andere Weise an ihr Publikum wenden können.
